About Us

We are an active Air Scout group in Exeter, Devon and we are proud to be one of approximately 10 Air Scout groups with official RAF Recognition (no 47). We have held this honour since 1983 and the recognition scheme allows us access to facilities provided by the RAF (often via the local ATC squadron).

This recognition must be renewed every 18 months, and is carried out by an RAF or ATC officer

Of course, air activities are a key part of our Scouting offer, but that's not all!  Our young people still benefit from a regular Scouting programme that is balanced with traditional skills, life skills and having fun!  Youth empowerment is a key national priority, so our young people actively choose what they want to do each term; our job as leaders is to facilitate this in a safe way.

The Scout Association is the largest co-educational youth movement in the UK, with humble beginnings in 1907.  Robert Baden-Powell organised an experimental camp on Brownsea Island, Dorset, and The Scouts of today has over 500,000 members in the UK.
